Amaney & Leila explain how they applied for a German Visa in Syria and Lebanon
Amaney and Leila applied for a German work and family visa while still living in their home countries. Join our conversation to know how they did that.
If you are living in Syria or Lebanon and dream about a career in Germany, we invite you to get to know the stories of Amaney and Leila. They are people just like you, just as bright and talented as you are.
Amaney graduated from the Damascus University, worked for companies in Syria and Austria as a Software Engineer, and in 2018 landed a job in a big tech startup in Berlin. Leila graduated from the University of Leeds in Economics, moved to Germany when her husband found a job here, and joined Zalando, a unicorn in Berlin, in 2016. What they have in common? They dreamed about living in Germany, believed in themselves, and made their dreams come true.
The very first step to achieve the life you want to live is believing in yourself.
In this video, you will know more about their experiences while applying for a German visa in their homeland. Amaney received a job contract from a company in Germany which allowed her to apply for a national visa for work purposes. She found all the required documents on the German Embassy website and booked an appointment in Lebanon. If you also live in Syria, you can either apply to the Embassy in Lebanon, Jordan, or Iraq. After receiving your visa, you can live and work in Germany.
Leila had a different experience. She lived in Lebanon with her family until her husband decides to work in Germany in 2014. He applied for a work visa and she together with their daughter applied for the family reunion visa at the Embassy in Beirut. As a wife of a work visa holder, Leila acquired the same work rights as her husband.
